The Moorfields Association offers bursaries to trainee eye care professionals - applications will be considered under the following circumstances:

Please note that retrospective requests will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
The Moorfields Association is offering two annual bursaries of a maximum of £1,500 each to members of the MA for teaching/training visits to be undertaken in Central or Eastern Europe in 2017.
The bursaries will be known as the Sir Edward Lewis Foundation Bursaries.
Programmes should be based mainly on subjects relevant to VISION 2020 * and should involve a post-graduate centre in one of the following 14 countries: Albania – Armenia - Azerbaijan - Belarus – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Bulgaria –Georgia – Kosovo – Macedonia - Moldova – Montenegro – Romania – Serbia – Ukraine.
Each bursary is intended to cover the costs of travel and accommodation for three nights and, before applying, the applicants must have confirmation of provisional acceptance from the post-graduate centre to be visited. The successful recipients will be expected to supply a report on the visit to the Trustees of the Sir Edward Lewis Foundation and for publication on the MA website.

* VISION 2020 subjects include diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular disease. glaucoma, paediatric ophthalmology, cataract surgery, age-related macular disease and the management of low vision. Additional subjects such as retinal detachment, corneal disease, trauma, ophthalmoplastics, uveitis and neuro-ophthalmology will also be considered.
