#HelloMyNameIs... Atthal Ahmad

We caught up with Atthal Ahmad electronic patient record (EPR) change analyst.

Atthal works closely with clinical and operational teams to evaluate and optimise care for diagnostic pathways. He helps analyse and map out our current systems and processes to identify gaps and what requirements we have of building a successful EPR.

What makes me happy is being able to help others. Whether it's offering support, sharing knowledge, or simply being there for someone in need, the act of making a positive impact in someone else's life brings me a deep sense of fulfilment and joy.

Has there been one example or situation which has made you feel an additional sense of pride working at Moorfields and why?

I feel a strong sense of pride working at Moorfields, especially when I had the opportunity to help the communications team design the new identity for the EPR project, 'MoorConnect.' It's an honour to contribute creatively to a project with such impact.

What makes me even prouder is the sense of belonging here; Moorfields fosters an inclusive environment where every voice is valued. I truly feel part of the team and appreciated, with open collaboration rather than hierarchy guiding our work.

When you’re not working what do you like to do?

When I'm not working, I love exploring new destinations, immersing myself in different cultures, and finding inspiration through travel.

I'm also deeply interested in studying comparative religions, as it broadens my understanding of diverse beliefs and enriches my worldview. These passions allow me to connect with people from various backgrounds and bring fresh insights into my everyday life.

What book are you reading/boxset are you watching?

I'm currently reading the Bible and have recently started exploring the Vedas as well. Diving into these texts offers me a fascinating look into the beliefs and philosophies that have shaped cultures and societies across time.

Working together means we collaborate with one another, with our patients and with other organisations. Can you give an example of a collaborative way you work?

As an EPR change analyst, collaboration is at the heart of my role. I spend a significant amount of time on the floor, working closely alongside clinical, admin staff, patients, and coordinating with technical teams. This hands-on approach allows me to understand different perspectives and ensure that the EPR system is tailored to meet both the practical needs of our staff and the expectations of our patients.

Do you have a pet?

I love animals, I've previously had parrots and fish. I currently have a cat named Milo.
