About Professor Lyndon da Cruz
| Professor Lyndon da Cruz is a senior and highly respected consultant retinal surgeon and head of vitreoretinal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, with global recognition for his work in retinal disease, gene therapy, and stem cell transplantation. He co-developed and delivered the world’s first stem cell-derived retinal implant for macular degeneration and implanted the UK’s first bionic eye. Holding professorships at UCL and King’s College London, he leads multidisciplinary research in robotic surgery and regenerative treatments.
