What are your areas of expertise?

  • Ocular oncology in adults and children
  • Intraocular and ocular surface tumours
  • Retinoblastoma
  • Naevus

Why do patients come to see you?

Patients come to see me for a world-class opinion on their suspected eye cancer and for cutting-edge treatment of the eye cancer if required. My training in ocular oncology has been in both the UK at Moorfields and in Philadelphia. At Moorfields, I am one of two consultants managing one of the largest ocular oncology practices in the world meaning my experience in managing eye cancer is up to date and extensive. I dedicate a lot of time to making sure patients are compassionately supported through their diagnosis and treatment.

Please tell us about your research interests.

I am actively involved in research into clinical ocular oncology, with several important publications in the scientific literature. I regularly present my oncological research papers at both national and international conferences.

I am very interested in training the next generation of ophthalmologists. I am a college tutor for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery, responsible for the training of 3 to 4 junior ophthalmologists rotating through the hospital per year. As a fellowship director of the ocular oncology service, I am responsible for the Moorfields international fellowship program. We have three fellows per year training in ocular oncology at Moorfields who have finished their ophthalmology training in their home countries and come to gain extensive training in all aspects of ocular oncology at Moorfields.
