Moorfields Private’s nurses are highly skilled in specialist areas of ophthalmic nursing, such as operating theatre, clinic or ward nursing. Our bespoke training scheme covers all areas of ophthalmic nursing, equipping our staff with the latest skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality of care.
In 2023, Moorfields achieved the Pathway to Excellence accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Moorfields was one of only 14 trusts in the UK chosen to take part in the Pathway to Excellence programme, which is built around six standards: health and wellbeing, shared decision-making, quality, safety, professional development, and leadership.
These enable nurses to have a greater voice in their workplace to build positive practise environments.

As well as our nurses and consultants, our pharmacy, technician, imaging and theatre teams are all ophthalmology specialists.
This means that when you are receiving diagnostic tests, undergoing surgery, or being prescribed specialist medicine, you can be confident that the clinical team looking after you are all specially trained.
