For more information please speak to your consultant’s practice manager prior to your consultation.

Package pricing

A package price bundles the common fees associated with a procedure into one price. This often represents a discount compared to paying for all the items individually.

Which procedures have package prices?

We have package pricing available for:

What is included?

Each package price will have inclusions and exclusions and this will be explained to you at the point of booking.

Typically a package price includes:

  • The most commonly required tests
  • Hospital fees
  • Consultant fees
  • Take home medication
  • One post-operative appointment

What is not included?

We charge for the initial consultation separately and also at a fixed rate. This is to allow patients the opportunity to discuss the treatment or procedure with their consultant before committing to the full package price.

Any additional scans, tests or upgrades that are not part of the routine package are not included in the package price. Our package prices are designed to cover what every patient needs who is going through that procedure. However, in some and more complex cases, a consultant may need to request additional diagnostic tests or scans to ensure the best outcome for you.

For example, most patients don’t require a B-SCAN before undergoing a cataract operation. However, in rare cases the consultant cannot adequately see the back of the eye in the initial consultation and the consultant will recommend an additional B-SCAN to ensure that the procedure can be carried out safely. This would be charged in addition to the package price.

The consultant will advise you if there are any additional costs before they are incurred.

Are there additional costs for aftercare?

Aftercare usually includes one post operative consultation and take-home medication. However, if you wish to see your consultant outside of the covered treatment plan, there maybe additional charges which will be advised by your consultant’s practice manager.

What are the benefits of choosing a package?

There are three main benefits to choosing a package price:

  • Peace of mind: know how much you are likely to pay up front in a fixed fee
  • More cost-effective: package prices are better value than booking each appointment or test individually
  • Less paperwork: pay once rather than having to pay multiple invoices

Private medical insurance

Initial consultation

Prior to your appointment, please confirm with your insurer that your appointment, tests and named consultant are all covered by your insurance policy.

Please bring your membership number, authorisation code and any paperwork with you to your appointment.

Anything not covered by your policy, called a "shortfall", will need to be paid by credit or debit card on the day or via invoice subsequently. This may include any take home medication.

Surgery or treatment

It is essential that you contact your insurance provider to obtain an authorisation number and check that your policy fully covers your treatment. If it does not, you will be liable for any shortfall or excess, which will require payment within 7 days of notification.

Take home medication is not covered by medical insurance.

Please contact our admissions coordinator prior to your admission to confirm your insurance authorisation for surgery.

We are available Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm.
