Pearse Keane, consultant ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital will be presenting at the Royal Institution Christmas lectures this year.
The Royal Institution Christmas lectures are an annual presentation of scientific research around a theme, with the aim of engaging children in science. They have been held every year since 1895 and watching the televised recordings of the lectures is a Christmas tradition for many people.
The theme of the lecture series this year is ‘the hidden power of maths’ and Pearse will be discussing how artificial intelligence can be used in ophthalmology.
Pearse’s lecture will air on Friday 27th December, BBC4 at 8pm and will be available on BBC iPlayer afterwards.
